A New Design!

Hello Again,

Well, thus far my track record for being a regular blogger.... sucks. (Did anyone see this one coming?)

This is the story of my life friends. There have been
countless endeavors I have sworn to perpetuate: ballet lessons, exercise programs, vegetarianism... But alas, they have all crashed and burned into a flaming inferno.

This may seem like just another fruitless attempt at a hobby, but by God I'm going to do this one.

But I digress... Currently, I'm sitting at work munching on the last of the rye chips in my Gardetto's snack. (If they sold the rye chips separately without the nasty little pretzels, I would buy a lifetime's supply of that stuff!) I am currently working at the LSU system's office as a student aid, a job which I'm fortunate to have, but one that I don't feel particularly enthused about. But that's a topic for another day.

What I really want to talk about is this fabulous contest I heard about from the lovely writers at Glamour magazine's fashion blog: Slaves To Fashion. The fabulous, (albeit, VERY eccentric) Olsen sisters are holding a design competition for fashionistas to create a one-of-a-kind design for their label, Olsenboye. One lucky winner will have their design sold nationwide and also have the chance to meet the chic twins and snag a $500 shopping spree at JC Penneys. Sounds fabulous right? Well, being the broke, desperate college student that I am, I couldn't possibly pass up a chance to win $500 just for designing a fashionable frock. After looking closely at the label's most recent collection, (it was inspired by traveling) I settled on a design that would exude sophistication, but still embody the breezy, effortless style the Olsen twins have perfected. This was the result:
I'm still fiddling around with some colors, but I'm thinking a blush color, or a pastel green. What do you think loves?

Cheers,

Mallory
